RSPCA Lets 5000 Sheep Die of Starvation 11 September 2009
Animal Liberation Victoria has been asked
by Animal Lib ACT to include this shocking footage on our RSPCAwatchdog.org site -
The video is from their investigation in 2007
Approximately 5,000 sheep died of starvation in
Wee Jasper In early 2007. The RSPCA and Police refused to take action. The 'owner' of the sheep was heard in the
pub bragging that he couldn't be bothered wasting
bullets on any of them. Despite the cruelty involved and ongoing work by Animal Liberation ACT (AL ACT). the Brothers responsible for the sheep were never charged
or held accountable. The response AL ACT got from RSPCA at the time of investigation was: "Yass Police confirm the situation has been addressed and corrective action taken".
However it is not surprising that the RSPCA accepted
this response, because they have the exact same
attitude as the 'owner' of the 5000 sheep - Just pretend that there is no problem and hope that it will go away.
Time and again, it appears that the RSPCA is not interested in prosecuting for cruelty to 'farmed' (or as
they call them - 'food') animals. Shame on you RSPCA!
This shocking video (taken by AL ACT in 2007) shows
that the sheep starved to death due to neglect. Only a
small number of sheep were still clinging onto life at the
time the video was taken, but sadly they were so
malnourished that they could no longer even stand up.
